A digital twin is a virtual object within a metaverse environment created to resemble a physical object. Digital twins can be used to help metaverse users assess and engage with proofs of concepts or product demonstrations.
A digital twin can be created by scanning the physical object during various scenarios so that the digital twin is portrayed in the metaverse accurately. There are many types of digital twins that can be created, including of singular objects, entire environments or processes. Adding these objects to the metaverse increases access, so that people in different locations can easily experience the digital twin together.
As the metaverse has become more accessible, so too are digital twins, so people can easily view and interact. Using digital twins can help improve product development, as users can interact with products at various stages of development and under different conditions.
